In a heterogeneous system environment using SAP R/3 as central ERP system, a huge amount of a company’s important data is maintained there centrally. This data, however, is also required by other systems for many processes outside of the SAP system and vice versa.
Two essential criteria are to be complied with when integrating processes (and systems supporting the processes). Firstly the technical access to data of the other system and secondly the interconnection of the business processes so that an interaction of cross-application subprocesses can be performed.
